Generative AI tools are extraordinary. But without a filmmaker's eye - without an understanding of cinematic language, light, narrative tension, and editorial rhythm - they're just expensive noise. This is what 30 years of real production looks like when it meets the machines.
The human behind the prompt
Matt Harris is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and creative director with over 30 years of professional production behind him - and a co-founder of Unreelated, a studio working at the frontier of AI-native storytelling.
His debut feature documentary Rom Boys: 40 Years of Rad earned a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and global distribution on Amazon Prime and Apple TV. His Channel 4 film The Lancaster at 80, narrated by Sir David Jason, drew four stars in the Daily Mail and a 7.3 on IMDb.
That foundation - broadcast storytelling, photojournalism, commercial direction for Google, PayPal, Aston Martin - is what makes his AI work different. Cinematic language isn't a filter. It's the operating system.

Why this is different
Every AI output is evaluated through the lens of 30+ years of real production. Shot composition, lighting logic, editorial rhythm - the machine generates; the director decides.
Not a prompt engineer. A filmmaker. Channel 4 documentaries, festival-winning features, global brand campaigns. The creative instinct is human; the tools just got extraordinary.
Concept, script, creative direction, AI production, voiceover, sound design, editing, and delivery. One creative director. Zero creative dilution.
What I do
Cinematic marketing content built at a fraction of traditional cost. From concept through to delivery - without the compromise on visual quality or narrative impact.
Real interviews and authentic footage blended seamlessly with AI-generated environments, sequences, and visualisations to tell stories that neither medium could achieve alone.
Sales kick-offs, leadership messaging, company narratives - delivered with cinematic craft and memorable creative concepts. Speed is a feature, not a compromise.
The hardest part of AI filmmaking isn't the tools - it's knowing what to make. Decades of cinematography, directing, and editorial instinct applied to every prompt, sequence, and cut.
The foundation
Before a single prompt is written, the brief is interrogated with a director's mind. What is the emotional truth of this piece? What should the audience feel in the first three seconds? Where does the energy live?
These are questions a filmmaker asks. Most AI practitioners don't ask them - because they've never had to. Matt Harris has spent three decades asking them on real sets, for real broadcasters, with real budgets and real deadlines.
That experience is irreplaceable. The tools change every six months. The instinct doesn't.

Matrix-Inspired Sales Kick-Off
A client needed a film to open a major US sales event. Two senior employees. Same name. Different continents. We dropped them into the Matrix - using AI avatar work, voice cloning, and generated environments. The Head of Marketing walked on stage in a long coat and sunglasses. The room was theirs.
