Documentary director, brand storyteller, expedition filmmaker, cinematographer, and Explorers Club and RGS Fellow capturing the world's most remote environments.
My career started underwater more than 30 years ago as an underwater photographer, before moving into design, commercial filmmaking and documentary.
I have spent the decades since telling real stories through film, working across broadcast, advertising, corporate and documentary production. I continue to work regularly as a DoP in broadcast and documentary, alongside my expedition work.
In 2026 I returned to Bikini Atoll, where I had first dived in the 1990s, filming a scientific expedition investigating life in one of Earth's most extreme environments.
Today I work across expedition, documentary and brand storytelling, bringing the same approach to each: find the real story, find the people and make an audience care.
Alongside filmmaking, I founded Pixelwork in 2002 and am Creative Director of Unreelated, working at the intersection of storytelling, technology and AI.
I believe authenticity matters more than ever. As AI makes it increasingly easy to manufacture images, films and narratives, authenticity will become one of the defining qualities separating genuine filmmakers from those who simply know how to generate content.
Real access. Real people. Real experience. Real stories.
