Sometimes a job comes along that is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity, and this was one of those jobs. Five days in deepest Africa, Rwanda, working with drone pilot Al Gillan we were tasked with the filming of the launch of an amazing new project on Lake Kivu.
A method for extracting the methane present in the lake bed and converting it to electricity had been developed and the 7 year construction project was finally coming to a close. We were hired to film the launch and towing of the barge out into the middle of the lake along with all of the activity, staff interviews and community programs.
It really was one of those incredible adventure style projects which was the whole reason I got into this business in the first place !
